Mandaue City—After the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center’s launching last May 1, 2015, its maiden request for assistance was successfully settled, Director Edmundo T. Mirasol announced today.
“ Mr. Aljun Taban, a resident of Basak, Mandaue City received his settlement worth P 1,500 representing his social benefits reimbursement which was not remitted by his employer”, Director Mirasol said.
The sole request was settled in seven days.
“Magpasalamat ko sa NCMB ug ni Mam Darlene nga nitabang nako nga matagaan ko ug guide nga makuha nako ang deduction sa SSS, PHIC ug Pag-ibig nga wala iremit” says Mr. Taban.
He also expressed that he is willing to refer the prompt services he has received to his friends and acquaintance who has the same predicament.
“Kon naay case nga pareha sa akoa karon , maka refer pod ko sa ilaha kon kinsa ila duolan basi sa akong experience” he added.
Mr. Taban went to the Mandaue City PESO Office on June 3 to inquire for available jobs on which he could apply.
“He came to the office to initially ask for jobs and we did inform him of the job matching. In the course of our conversation he told me about his plight with his previous employer who never remits their social benefits contribution” says Ms. Darlene Alimpangog, a Desk Officer of the Mandaue ADR Center.
Ms. Alimpangog then introduced to him the ADR Center and the services which he can avail of.
She assisted the party and immediately sent a copy of the request to NCMB on that same day.
Director Mirasol who received the request divulged that the responding party, Candole Labor Contracting Services is located in Cagayan de Oro City.
“We immediately informed our NCMB X counterpart to facilitate assistance of Mr. Taban’s request” Director Mirasol said.
Through RBX Supervising LEO, Ms. Jocelyn Saa, the agency was able to contact with the company and informed them about the request.
According to Ms. Saa, the company wasn’t able to remit the contribution to the SSS, Philhealth and HDMF of Mr. Taban because he failed to submit his corresponding numbers of the said government agencies to them.
“However, they expressed that they are willing to reimburse the deductions that they have made to Mr. Taban” says Ms. Saa.
On June 10, 2015, Mr. Aban received his settlement pay in check worth P1,500 at the Mandaue City Mayor’s Office.
No less than Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, Vice-Mayor Glenn Vercide and Honorable Elston Dabon, together with Mandaue PESO Manager Mr. Musoline Suliva and Director Mirasol handed over the payment to Mr. Aban.
Ms. Alimpangog who also witnessed the momentous occasion said that she felt fulfilled having helped somebody.
“Mas maayo nga naa ni nga facility (ADR Center) diri sa atong tugkaran. Hopefully, dili magduha-duha nga moduol ang gusto nga magpa-assist” she quips.
Mr. Elston Dabon, the proponent of the center expressed that they have been tested with the first request and was grateful for its successful intervention.
“We will expect more from Mandaue City to avail of the center’s services”, he said.
Director Mirasol who facilitated the settlement said that based on the company’s computation the total unremitted contributions of the latter for five months are only P1,381.66 but they extended an extra amount for his pay.
