Mandue City—No less than the Chairman of the Board of Judges and NCMB7 Director Edmundo T. Mirasol bared the 2018 Gawad Linaw winners in an awarding ceremony held last December 7 at the Oakridge Pavilion, Mandaue City.
A.D. Gothong Manufacturing Corp. was proclaimed winner for the large business category while Cebu Furniture support as the winner for the small business category. Both winners received a cash prize of P50,000 and a trophy.
The winners were judged based on the following criteria: employee management partnership (25%), state of labor-management and dispute resolution strategies (25%), productivity program (25%) and corporate social responsibility (25%).
Four companies made into the final cut for the large category namely A.D. Gothong Manufacturing Corp., Cenapro Chemical Corp., Virginia Farms, Inc., and Zuellig Pharma Corp.
The finalists were given special citations during the ceremony as follows: Cenapro Chemical Corp. -special cititation for for significant improvement in the state of labor-management relations, Virginia Farms, Inc. –special citation for environmental protection and concerns advocacy, and Zuellig Pharma Corp. – special cititation for corporate social responsibility. They received P25,000 cash prize and a plaque.
The screening committee was composed of DOLE7, NCMB7, RTWPB7, PESO Mandaue and the Mandaue Tripartite Industrial Peace Council management and labor representatatives.
This year’s members of the Board of Judges are: Fr. Dan Domingo P. Delos Angeles Jr., Mr. Macario Balili and Engr. Gines P. Timosa.
Now on its second year, the Gawad Linaw is a program which promotes tripartism and aims to recognize companies who have outstanding innovative labor-management relation practices.
It is an endeavor organized by the Mandaue City Government, Mandaue City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, Department of Labor and Employment VII , National Conciliation and Mediation Board VII, Regional Tripatite Wage and Productivity Board VII, and Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Gawad Linaw means Gift of Peace, however linaw also means Labor, Industry, Nurturing Advance Progress in the Workplace.
